		<description>That&#039;s pretty much what I figured. I look at them as plan B options. We have a pretty straight shot down the stairs and out the door, and would be more comfortable jumping than trying to setup that ladder in a panic situation. 
Should be interesting to hear what they tell us.</description>

		<description>When we did our home study, the fire marshall actually said that the escape ladders can often cause more trouble.  When we talked about using it, he advised against it since the ladder would have come down in front of another window.  he also said, they often take too long to deploy and aren&#039;t that easy to use.

He actually advised coming out of our master bedroom window and waiting for help, or jumping down from that roof area above the garage.

I&#039;ll be interested to hear what advice you get.</description>
